Work you can go and look at.
Walls, patios, beds and drainage on real properties across Washtenaw County. Every photo here is our own work, not a catalog image.
The finished shot is the easy part.
Anyone can photograph a wall on the day it is finished. What decides whether it is still straight in ten winters is the part that gets buried before that photo is taken.
So the galleries here include the middle of the job as well as the end of it. The trench, the drain tile, the clean stone going in behind a wall, the compacted base under a patio. That is where the money actually goes and it is the part you cannot inspect once it is done.
If you are comparing quotes, those are the photos worth asking every contractor for. A company that cannot show you what is behind their walls is telling you something.
- Progress photos, not just finishes, so you can see the base and the drainage.
- Real Washtenaw County properties, on the same clay and the same frost line as yours.
- A range of budgets, from a single bed to full property builds.
- References available, if you would rather talk to a customer than look at a photo.
Walls, patios and stone
Structural work built for freeze-thaw, with the drainage that keeps it standing.

Natural fieldstone wall with integrated stone steps, holding a grade change behind a Washtenaw County home.

Paver patio with a seating area and fire pit, laid on a compacted base that keeps its level through the winter.

Two shorter walls instead of one tall one, turning a steep bank into level, usable, planted terraces.

A wide paver patio set to take in the water on an Irish Hills lakefront property.
The part that gets buried
A retaining wall and drainage job, from open trench to finished wall.

Beds, planting and turf
Bed renovations, new planting and the lawns we keep on a weekly route.

A front bed stripped back to soil, amended, replanted and mulched, rather than mulched over.

A freestanding bed with boulder edging and ornamental grasses that hold their shape through winter.

A weekly-route lawn cut at seasonal height, edged and blown clean.

A natural stone path connecting the drive to a front entry.

Project questions, answered
Are these your own photos?
Yes. Everything in these galleries is work our crew did on real properties around Washtenaw County and Grass Lake. We do not use stock project imagery, because you cannot judge a contractor by a photo of someone else’s wall.
Can I see a project in person?
Often, yes. Depending where you are there is usually finished work nearby, and some customers are happy to let a prospective client look at a wall or a patio.
Can you do something like a project I saw here?
Usually, and the honest answer depends on your grade and drainage rather than on the photo. Send us the picture and the address and we will tell you what it takes on your ground.
Do you have references?
Yes, and we will give you ones near you rather than a curated list. Reviews from our customers are on the home page too.
